Teaching and Learning survey

At my school we decided some kind of benchmark was needed to measure pupil satisfaction with their education. I set about writing a teaching and learning survey. Not as easy as it first appeared.

I decided on Google Forms because they are so simple to construct and deliver.

This is finished now (at least for this year). The aim is to take a measurement that can be used for comparison in a years time, hopefully enabling some assessment of the impact of new ICT practices across the curriculum as they are implemented. Not a perfect model but you need to start somewhere and measure impact somehow. Any ideas on how to do this differently would be appreciated.

In the meantime, please feel free to borrow and adapt. No accreditation required. If you would like me to invite you to the Google Doc then DM me your email address and you will be able to make a copy.

The first few questions

Happy Fathers Day to me

This is my fathers day haul. My daughter made me some truffle
chocolates (yum yum – they are delicious), a super dad toblerone, a
nice muffin (sensing a theme here?). A loaf of my favourite bread.
Last but by no means least, a pair of vibram five finger shoes. They
are fabulous. A bit odd when you first put them on. Then everything
slides into place. Comfortable and cool to wear. Perfect for the summer!

e-safety

I started writing a Moodle course for e-safety this week.

Moodle esafety course

I am authorised to deliver the CEOP materials but the course will be taught by another teacher as well so I cannot use these in the course. Instead I have gone for (lesson 1):

teach-ict.com e-safety quiz games

a social networking flash video

a Moodle quiz to identify who has accounts on various social networks

A Moodle assignment with a comprehension exercise on a cyber-bullying article from the BBC

I am now wondering where to go next. It is such a big field. The ThinkUKnow and CEOP reporting buttons are there, which we will have a look at, but what activities are best for the pupils to learn all about e-safety. I would rather it was less about the teacher and more about the pupil doing. Any ideas or resources?
